I remember hearing this phrase in the military and in the corporate world "Prior planning can prevent piss poor performance". This was often said after observing a cluster event happen that could have been mostly avoided with a little forethought on the part of the poor soul responsible for allowing said cluster event to take place. I then realized that all people are great planners and almost always get the results they planned for in the first place. The difference is some Plan to Succeed and other Plan to Fail.
